Travel : Amboli

A charming hill resort, nestling in the Sahyadri mountains at an altitide of 690m. Surrounded by thick forests and verdant hills and valleys. Numerous view points offer panoramic vistas of the valley. Hiranya Keshi offers hours of fun for anglers. Nagarta Falls and Narayangad are perfect for picnicking. Many people visit Amboli specially in the monsoons for enjoying the numerous waterfalls that cascade down the hills in Amboli.
There are many points in Amboli and the nearby places like Savantwadi, Vengurla and Terekhol add to the pleasure of your trip. You can also make a one day trip to Goa.

If you do not have your own vehicle, Rickshaws are available in Amboli to visit various points in Amboli, However the public transport available from Amboli to go to places like Savantwadi is State Transport Buses and care should be taken while returning back to Amboli as there are no return buses to Amboli from Savantwadi after 7 pm. in the evening .

By Air: Nearest airport is Belgaum, 64 kms.

By Rail: Sawantwadi 28 kms. on KonkanRailway is a convenient railhead.

By Road: Mumbai--Panvel-Pen-Chiplun-Savantwadi-Amboli --600 kms approx.

Pune-Satara-Kolhapur-Nipani-Ajra-Amboli 495 kms aprrox.

Ratnagiri-Amboli, 215 kms approx.

State Transport and luxury buses run from Vengurla, Belgaum, Sawantwadi and Ratnagiri to Amboli.

List of hotels: Hotel Shiv-Malhar, Hotel JRD International, Hotel Sailee, Hotel Green palace.
In peak season it is advisable to make prior bookings of the Hotel.
